Software Development by familiarising women's

 The tech major launched ‘She Develops Tech’ (#shedevelopstech) programme to introduce computer science and programming to deprived girls in partnership with the the U.S. Consulate General, Hyderabad, National Association of Software and Services Companies (NASSCOM) and Girls in Tech Foundation. “More than that, it might help them take up tech innovations in their own villages to help other girls,” Ms. Vadlapudi added. ‘She Develops Tech’ was an idea that was first implemented in the U.S. Sree Divya Vadlapudi, Chairman, Girls in Tech Foundation, said the programme would help students opt for a career in technology. In NASSCOM’s past experiences, girls were found receptive and enthusiastic to adopt tech learning,” said Mr. Sinha. There is place for more women to join,” said Manju Dhasmana, director of Microsoft Philanthropies, India, who was in the city on Wednesday.

A group of girl students from the remotest of villages in three States — Telangana, Andhra Pradesh and Odisha — were taught basics of coding at Microsoft’s Cyberabad campus here on Wednesday. A total of 230 girl students between the age of 18 and 22 years attended the meet which aimed at taking technology–enabled empowerment and education to the weaker sections. The All India Council of Technical Education and the governments of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh were also part of the workshop that would conclude on June 22.

U.S. Consulate General Katherine Hadda asked the girls to employ technology to also save environment and protect the planet. New future Speaking at the meet, NASSCOM CEO Shrikant Sinha said when technology reaches the underprivileged, it would usher in a new future for the country. “Girls should be given education that focuses on STEM-science, technology, engineering and mathematics. Coding is just a series of ideas executed logically by anyone.
